Why a Wedding Videographer?

“Is paying for a wedding videographer worth it?” This is the question I get asked the most from potential brides and just people in general, and here’s my short answer: YES. My long answer is still yes, but here’s why. Wedding videography is a luxury service alongside wedding photography. We use a lot of the same equipment cameras wise as photographers do. A lot of the times we will have 3 cameras on site as well as all of our other equipment. On the post production end of things, the editing looks very different. A simple 5 minute video can take up to a month to edit because of all of the culling we have to go through in order to find the perfect clips. A separate blog post will go more into detail of a breakdown as to why these services cost what they do. To put it simply, videographers catch moments in a different way than photographers do. Photographers freeze moments in time, and their craft is unmatched. However, as a videographer, I possess the ability to transport you back into that moment. Instead of just visualizing it from a photo, a videographer will take you back there and you can watch it unfold all over again from a different point of view. There are so many little candid moments that get caught on video that you might not notice on the day of. Videography is another form of art, and in my opinion, completely worth spending the money on to capture one of the best days of your life effectively creating a time capsule.
